Gallery revamping as always, lol

Spreading the supplies through out the gallery, now even in the sitting area of the gallery. Great spot to have an intimate class or just sit and create/chat.

I have been listing the gallery on facebook this past week including finding *friends*, listing events, starting groups and overall getting lost and not finding my way out for hours :0)

I have found school friends that I have not heard from in years, art contacts local and not so local, a way to get in touch with the local population(other than flooding their email boxes with jpegs and stuff...), etc. etc.

A book club was also found as well as a group about Surviving the Halton Hilton, lol...
Crazy stuff can be had in the hills of Pennsylvania.

Statement

My work is by nature one of a kind and created spontaneously at times. I do have items that are signature pieces like my hammered sterling silver spiral earrings or hammered & wrapped copper garden muse pendants w/semi-precious stones that I find myself replenishing for the gallery and online shop time after time. When it comes to the neckpieces, bracelets, brooches and rosaries I am inspired by the palette placed in front of me in that sitting. I also get obsessed with a medium and have to research techniques which in turn will spill out some work that perhaps I will not attempt again for years in some cases. I also promote my work in designing my own business cards, brochures, slides, etc. and in doing that photography has become somewhat of a branching off in my abilities as an artist. I love creating and in the camera I can capture the process in a way that only I ,as the creator, am able to photograph each piece with the understanding of thought.

Custom Work

My work is based on each individuals wants and needs. During this process we work as a team in creating the perfect piece, set-up a timeline, get each others expectations and of course a payment schedule. I get partial payment up front.

Smaller pieces such as strung jewelry and earrings 2 days. Large and labor intense work such as bead embroidered sculpture, it could take several months to build a piece depending on the size. Photography, painting, calligraphy, design work, etc. is all type centric.

Medieval Illuminations

In the Middle Ages all books were hand-written original works of art. These “illuminated” manuscripts were so called because of their frequent incorporation of gold or sometimes silver leaf onto the page. Illumination comes from the Latin word illuminare, meaning “light up,” and when one sees one of these brilliant manuscripts in person, the term makes sense. I am using different beads to create this illuminated effect on these special brooches. Wool felt, dry felt embellishing technique, floss and beads come together creating a one-of-a-kind piece of personal art to be attached or framed. Custom made by requested letter!
